• Experience in designing and optimizing molecular biology methods including: DNA, RNA and protein isolation from different plant and animal tissues; PCR; RT-PCR; Real-Time PCR (qPCR); molecular cloning; subtractive hybridization; Southern/Northern/Western blotting; ELISA; protein purification; mass spectrometry; liquid chromatography; cytotoxicity and proliferation assays; immunofluorescence; immunocytochemistry; immunohistochemistry; and others.
• Experience in animal and plant in vitro tissue culture.
• Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) certified small animal handler.
• Experience in the design, set-up and maintenance of experiments involving the growth of plants in controlled environmental chambers.
• Experience with the design and development of plant binary vectors for the generation of transgenic plants.
• Stable transformation of N. tabacum and L. leucocephala mediated by Agrobacterium tumefaciens.
• Computer skills: Microsoft Word; Excel; Power Point; Adobe Photoshop; Endnote; Vector NTI; GraphPad Prism and Integrative Bioinformatics Databases like NCBI.
